Our Story
From Lisbon to London
We are João and Carina, the Portuguese couple behind O Croquete. In July 2024, we arrived in the UK with our two children, determined to bring a little of our beloved Lisbon to London’s food scene.
Croquetes have always been part of our lives — not a full meal, but the perfect size for a snack or to share with friends over drinks. Traditionally made with vitela (veal), porco (pork), or vaca (beef), or a mix of these, croquetes are a staple of Portuguese comfort food.
We started O Croquete to share the very best gourmet, slow‑cooked meat croquetes with Londoners. Each one is crafted in small batches with care, preserving the flavours and traditions we grew up with.
